One Day at a Time

I am worn out from sobbing. Every night tears drench my bed; my pillow is wet from weeping. (Psalm 6:6 NLT)

A son or daughter has died. The world is crashing in…the next breath seems impossible to take…your heart screams for mercy…yet, finds only emptiness.

A husband or wife is suddenly gone. You have been together for so many years and now you find yourself alone, stumbling in the darkness of silence.

A spouse, a child, a friend, once here, now gone from your life and as you try to find the strength to go on without them, there only seems to be emptiness where, once, there was fullness of life.

For each of us, we eventually find the answers we need to get up each morning. For each of us, nothing is ever the same again. Yet, we find a way to go on…one foot in front of the other…one day at a time. We cry, we grieve…we long for a better day.

  1. Even though the loss of a loved one is a personal journey, it helps to be reminded that we aren’t the only ones that feel this pain.

  3. It’s nearly 18 months and the tears still flow. I love to come to your site and see “David’s Bear” … it’s a warm feeling to know it’s a part of him.

  4. It is hard to click like when what you write is so true as well as sad.
