Our loved one is dead. The tears of mourning flow with heaviness we have never known. The pain of loss replaces the peace we once knew and the sun no longer shines. Our sense of direction is lost in a foggy darkness that surrounds us.
Without God’s grace, I believe that grieving for a loved one would be more than we could bear. Whether we realize it or not, He understands our sorrow and is with us as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death.
Tears follow us through the long night of mourning, but the joy of loving and remembering will be ours in the sunrise of a new day. We will shed tears of joy as our loved one lives on in our heart.
You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy”
(Psalm 30:11 NLT)
Written for all of us who have suffered the death of a loved one.
