There is a time for everything…
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance…
A sudden loss gives you no time to prepare…no time to adjust. It hits you in the face with no warning. An expected loss, on the other hand, gives you time to begin to process the fact that the loss is eminent. There is time to accept…time to say goodbye. Neither situation is welcome to us, but to have notice is better.
To provide the best we can in either situation, is to live each day as if it were the last. I don’t me to cling and be sad or to look at someone or yourself like you would be gone tomorrow. Rather, what I mean is to make each day count. Don’t take yourself or others for granted. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Today, this moment, is all any of us have. Make it count.
