Along the Way

This path of life can take us in many different directions and can be uncertain with its challenges and turns. The length of the journey can be many years or just a few days. Eventually, whether short or long, we all reach the end of our earthly journey.

Along the way, there are blessings to gather and memories to make. There are tears to soften our hearts and smiles to light the way, discouragements to overcome and the hope to carry on. There are those we love who share the journey with us. There are hellos and goodbyes, beginnings and endings…there is this and more, along the way.

  1. Along with one of the comments by Suz, a man of profound Christian faith, my great-grandfather never said goodbye in a conversation. When done talking on the phone, for example, he’d just hang up.

My grandfather asked him one day why he’d abruptly hang up the phone without saying goodbye. He answered, “Why should I say goodbye when I know I’m going to see you later?”

  2. Bonnie, thank you! How different too are each of our paths?! Love the bit about ‘hellos’ and ‘goodbyes’ … How many do we say in a day – read somewhere that the Queen (of England), doesn’t say goodbyes, or hellos (I think!) Thanks for sharing.
